Who we are: Our key people  

Chas Linn - Director

Chas founded U Interactive after spending five years at Europe’s leading online learning company Epic Group Plc as Chief Technology Officer where he managed the 70-strong development team and many of the Epic’s major online system developments. 

He combines a deep understanding of user centered design methods, a deep and wide experience of web technologies and a thorough knowledge of effective online communication strategy.

His role is often initially one of strategic consultant, but once projects really get started he takes the role project director, ensuring the smooth running of UI’s design teams. 

His web career started where he ran Friends of the Earth’s award-winning internet site (1995-7). Since then he has run web and learning design projects for clients including Goldfish, UK Houses of Parliament, Sun Microsystems and Uniaid.

Chris Ford – Design consultant

Chris is design lead on many of U Interactive’s design projects. Chris has worked in the interaction design industry for 12 years. He started work as a freelance web designer, producing sites for BP, BT and Pilkington Glass. In 1997, Chris co-founded PlanetRecruit, the award winning online recruitment service.

Following the sale of PlanetRecruit in 2001, Chris held a number of roles at leading digital agencies working with such clients as Ericsson, Safeway, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Sun Microsystems, the DTi, Houses of Parliament, and higher education portal hero.ac.uk.

Mark Brown – Art direction and digital production

Mark has been art directing digital content since 1995. Working initially for London Agency Bomb Productions on the Channel4.com contract he has art directed two re-designs of the broadcasters portal. Other broadcasters he has worked with include ITV, Nickelodeon and Setanta.

As producer Mark has developed a variety of digital platforms, such an interactive digital publishing system for RBS, an online brand style guide for the Magic Roundabout film, branding and consultancy for Hewlett Packard’s internal training programme and co-founding a digital arts commissioning agency.

Mark also has experience of print, motion and mobile environments and works with Brand Licensing companies such as TLC and Coolabi.

Guy Anderson – Associate design consultant

Guy comes from an advertising background and has worked at Saatchi's and Y&R in London and Cape Town. He has been designing and building websites since 1997 and spent six years as a freelance web designer in London before joining Epic in Brighton in 2006.

As senior interactive designer in Epic's web division Guy was responsible for the overhaul of the in-house learning  management system, subsequently used by the likes of Thomson, Barclays, First Choice and Virgin.

Guy now provides user experience consultancy for some of the UK's top learning and training companies including: Happy Computers, Kineo, Sereno and QED. His latest work includes UX consultancy and online branding for an online mentoring social network.
